W.T. Brown Elementary-Young Men of Leadership and Reading Buddies

W.T. Brown Elementary-Young Men of Leadership and Reading BuddiesYoung Men of Leadership:
The W.T. Brown Young Men of Leadership is a mentoring group for boys in 4th-5th grades at William T. Brown Elementary School. The boys are selected into the program based on their interest in being in the program and their parent’s permission. Boys must maintain appropriate behavior based on observations and determinations by teachers, school staff, and school administrator reports. The school is seeking community volunteers and leaders who are passionate about helping young boys be all that they can be. All volunteers and mentors must complete a background check. We need mentors who will be able to work with their student sometimes during and after-school hours. We need mentors 1-2 times per month after-school.

Reading Buddies:
On a regular basis (1-2 days a week) our school is in need of volunteers to read with students, serve as mentors and class parents. We hope that volunteers will help our students build skills to improve their reading and comprehension.
